At Maple Leaf Farm we believe that quality instruction is the key to achieving your goals for you and your horse. Our desire is to create a positive and fun atmosphere that attracts riders of all ages and levels.
It is also important to us that there be a sense of comaraderie & good sportsmanship among our riders and others, allowing each person to achieve their individual goals in an encouraging environment.
We strive to inspire our customers to further develop their confidence, riding skills and knowledge through lessons and horse showing.
Our lesson and training programs are not designed to be a one fit all program, but personalized where each student can receive one on one time with the instructors, so they can reach their individual potential.
JJEREMY SIMS: OWNER / HEAD TRAINER








is a native of Edmonton Alberta Canada. He started riding at 












the age of five under the training of his aunt. Jeremy came to








the U.S. in 1996 to continue his training at top Hunter/Jumper 









show barns in New Jersey, California, Texas, Belgium and Ohio. 









Jeremy started his career in the U.S. by working for Andrew 








Philbrick in New Jersey, at Hunter Farms, where he ran the 








lesson program, rode and prepared sale horses, and worked as 








their road manager. He then moved to the west coast to work for 










International Grand Prix rider, and USEF team members Lise 










Quintero and Meagan Johnstone where he learned the importance of








daily conditioning of show horses for competition. Jeremy managed and cared for international Grand Prix horses such as; "Porter 007", "Marco", and "Moritz". Jeremy then continued on to Texas to work for Three- time World Champion Hunter rider Peter Pletcher. During his time with PJP Farm, Jeremy had the opportunity to prepare and train horses that were champion and reserve at Devon, Harrisburg, Washington and New York. Jeremy also spent time in Belgium at one of the top sales barns, training and representing young horses for prospective buyers.
Jeremy has gained valuable experience in all areas of the business. He has also worked with highly respected vets and farriers, and has learned how to properly manage the horses daily care for top performance. Jeremy's strengths are his patience and his ability to communicate effectively to any level of rider.
With the experience that Jeremy has gained over the last fourteen years he has come to understand the importance of surrounding himself with a great team of equine professionals.
Jeremy and Rachel Sims started Maple Leaf Farm in 2005 and are located in Lebanon, Ohio at
Dancing Horse Farm. Jeremy and Rachel have two sons, Logan and Cole.
MEET OUR TEAM:
BRYAN C. MCNABB, D.V.M.
is a 2003 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Growing up in the Cincinnati area, he was a member of the United States Pony Club and competed in dressage, cross country, show jumping and polo. Dr. McNabb was the four-year president of his class as well as being honored as the most outstanding student for "Excellence in Equine Medicine and Surgery." Dr. McNabb most enjoys the diagnosis and treatment of challenging lameness issues of the performance horse and medical cases. He currently is enjoying being an active member of the Camargo Fox Hunting Club. drmcnabb@lebanonequineclinic.com.
Dr. McNabb is a valuable assest to Maple Leaf Farm because of his ability to diagnosis lameness with his incredible eye, but also his ability to ride, which allows him to feel what the rider is experiencing. Bryan has the ability to communicate clearly with our customers, which allows them to understand the diagnosis and treatment of their horse.
RON KUENLE, FARRIER
Ron graduate from farrier school in 1979 and began his farrier practice in 1980. He also graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In 1994 He became a certified Farrier with the American Farriers Association. We are fortunate to have Ron as part of our team because he has the inate ability to make corrections to the horses shoeing by observing the wear of the shoes and the growth of the horses feet. While watching the horse move, Ron is able to assess the issues and problems, and make the necessary changes that improve the horses movement and soundness. Ron is always punctual, and his willingness to make special trips when his services are needed, allows the horses to stay in training and sound.
DR. RON LEICK, DVM, Chiropractor/ Acupuncture
Dr. Leick is a l975 graduate of the Ohio State University. He had a traditional multi-person veterinary practice for 25 years. Ron began to take classes in veterinary chiropractic from the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association, and became certified in 1998,. He took the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society course of classes in 1999 and became certified in acupuncture in 2000.
Jeremy enjoys working with Dr. Lieck because of his calm, quiet demenor when working with the horses. His personality allows them to stay relaxed, which gets the most out of the treatments being administered. Dr. Liek's experience and knowledge as a vet gives him the ability to be more comprehensive in his diagnosis and treatment of the horses.
